I mentioned in a post earlier today how Pearl Jam had realized their fan’s desire for live content. Funny I mentioned this without remembering a lesson from Nuremberg–no, not that the “because I was told to” excuse doesn’t hold water–which I was reminded over the holiday when hearing someone mention they’d visited that city.
Having been there, and knowing it certainly does not rank among Germany’s top attractions, I was pretty certain I knew the reason: Rock Im Park, Nuremberg’s annual summer music fest.
It turns out we’d both attended the festival the same year, when Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam performed among a good many others. And, we discussed how both of us had purchased the live recording of this show.
Well, here’s a look at last week’s album charts, with Pearl Jam’s Live At The Gorge ranking at 36, moving over 19k units its first week of release.
