Nielsen SoundScan: A Look At This Week’s Charts

I’m still partially blown away by the fact that in 3 weeks AC/DC has scanned (1,214,768 units) nearly 65% of Coldplay’s 21-week total (1,886,227) – hats off to the buskers.

And congrats, again, to MGMT – nearing 220k units after 35 weeks provides even more evidence indicating their success is at least in part a result of music marketing at its finest.

Here’s one of my favorites, “Pieces of What”, from their debut Oracular Spectacular, along with video of the band performing this jam at Lollapalooza.
